Ron Paul has stated many times that he is concerned about the uphill battle involved in running as an Independent candidate. To make a serious bid for the White House, the campaign would likely need to raise at least $100 million dollars before Election Day. It would also have to collect approximately 800,000 signatures nationwide in order to be on the ballot in all 50 states. By pledging our support now, we let Ron Paul know that there exists a solid foundation upon which he can build his campaign, and that we are willing to help him overcome these hurdles. This in turn should give him more confidence to embark on the journey.

The goal is to collectively donate within 14 days of an official annoucement from the campaign that Ron Paul is undertaking an Independent bid.
¤ Will you be attempting to directly coordinate activities such as signature gathering?
No, absolutely not. This is something that should be handled through other grassroots channels. In the event that an Independent campaign is actually launched, I would imagine, though this is completely unconfirmed, that the task would be coordinated through the newly launched precinct captain program: http://voters.ronpaul2008.com

Yes, please check out your validation page that was provided in your confirmation email. The URL provided links to your personal profile where you can edit your pledges, or, should you wish, delete your account completely by purging your email from our database.
